End of Support for Windows XP is Coming
End of Support means that Microsoft will no longer provide automated fixes, updates, or online technical assistance. You will no longer receive Windows Security Updates that can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware and other malicious software that can steal your personal information.
It also means that Microsoft will no longer fix bugs and other security problems with the operating system on your computer which means your system will be much more susceptible to viruses and spyware. You will no longer be able to buy a new off the shelf printer or software and expect it to work automatically. Many other newer hardware and software items will no longer work.
End of Support for Windows XP is April 8, 2014
It is our recommendation that you seriously consider purchasing a replacement machine, sooner rather than later!
We can also help you transfer your data (documents, pictures, music) from your current computer to a replacement machine and set it up for you.
We can help you upgrade your desktop or laptop to Windows 7 or Windows 8. If you have any questions or would like to have a chat about a replacing your current computer, or installing a different operating please feel free to call me 705 822 7600 or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can help you upgrade your desktop or laptop to Windows 7 or Windows 8. Yes, that is right, we can still order brand new business grade computers with Windows 7 pre-installed. We can do this because Microsoft allows manufacturers to preinstall Windows 7 Professional on computers with Windows 8 Professional licenses.
Other Microsoft products are also going End of Life?
Microsoft is placing two other major products into End of Life status on April 8, 2014.
Office 2003 and Exchange 2003
Exchange 2003 is a major component of Small Business Server 2003, so SBS 2003 is also End of Life. If you use either Office 2003, Exchange 2003, or Small Business Server 2003 in your business, they must also be upgraded before April 8, 2014 in order to maintain compliance.
